We are currently seeking a knowledgeable and proactive Part-Time HR Generalist to join our team. This position is ideal for an HR professional who enjoys wearing many hats and making a direct impact across multiple areas of human resources.
Position Summary
The HR Generalist will be responsible for supporting and managing a wide range of HR functions, including but not limited to recruitment, onboarding, training & development, policy development, compensation and benefits, performance management, employee relations, payroll, and compliance. This role is key in ensuring a positive employee experience and supporting the organization’s strategic growth plans.
Key Responsibilities
Recruitment and Hiring
- Partner with department managers to identify staffing needs and create compelling job descriptions.
- Source candidates through job boards, social media, employee referrals, and recruitment agencies.
- Screen applicants, conduct interviews, and coordinate the selection process.
- Manage candidate communications and support the offer and negotiation process.
Onboarding
- Design and implement a welcoming and effective onboarding process for new hires.
- Ensure completion of all pre-employment documentation, background checks, and orientation.
- Facilitate initial training and integration into the company culture.
Policy and Procedure Development
- Draft, update, and maintain employee handbooks, policies, and procedures in accordance with federal, state, and local labor laws.
- Ensure all policies are communicated clearly and effectively to employees.
- Provide guidance to staff and management on HR policies and best practices.
Compensation and Benefits Management
- Support the administration of employee compensation programs, including salary reviews and market benchmarking.
- Coordinate employee benefits programs (health insurance, retirement plans, leave policies, etc.).
- Respond to employee questions regarding benefits and assist with enrollment or claims issues.
Performance Management
- Facilitate regular performance review cycles and support managers in setting and tracking employee goals.
- Provide coaching to managers on employee development, feedback, and improvement plans.
- Assist in developing recognition and reward initiatives that align with company goals.
Employee Relations
- Serve as a point of contact for employee concerns, questions, and conflict resolution.
- Investigate employee complaints and grievances thoroughly and objectively.
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and productive work environment.
Payroll Administration
- Collaborate with the finance to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing.
- Maintain payroll records, manage timekeeping systems, and ensure compliance with wage laws.
- Address employee payroll inquiries and work with management resolve discrepancies.
Compliance
- Ensure all HR practices comply with local, state, and federal regulations (e.g., FLSA, FMLA, ADA, EEOC).
- Maintain accurate and confidential employee records.
- Conduct audits and risk assessments to identify and address compliance issues proactively.
